Deb Swingholm is the author and creator of April’s Rain and the Meadow Series. A photographer, writer and women’s spiritual guide, all of her work is deeply rooted in connection with nature.

A native of Northwest Ohio, Deb is inspired by the Oak Openings region that features sand dunes, wetlands, oak savanna and tall grass prairie. There are lots of wild creatures, too.  Inspired by these landscapes, April’s Rain and the rest of the Meadow Series books bring together art, nature, storytelling and a little magic.

Part of the “Meadow Series,” April’s Rain is set in a field of wildflowers, oak trees and tall grass.  And if you are from Northwest Ohio, you might recognize some of the elements as native prairie plants found in the Oak Openings Region – Little Bluestem, Blazing Star, Black-eyed Susan and (my favorite) Wild Blue Lupine.
